How to Choose the Right Cabin for Your Cruise
Finding the Space That Suits You
Your cabin is your home at sea, a place to rest, recharge, and enjoy quiet moments between adventures. Choosing the right one can transform your cruise experience.
1. Interior, Oceanview, Balcony, or Suite?
Each cabin type offers a different experience.
Interior Cabins: Perfect for travellers who spend most of their time exploring the ship. Dark, quiet, and great value.
Oceanview Cabins: A window adds natural light and a sense of connection to the sea.
Balcony Cabins: Ideal for morning coffee, private sunsets, and fresh air. A popular choice for scenic itineraries.
Suites: More space, premium amenities, and often exclusive areas or services.
2. Location Matters More Than You Think
Where your cabin sits on the ship can affect noise, movement, and convenience.
Midship = least movement
Higher decks = closer to pools and views
Lower decks = more stability
Near elevators = convenient but sometimes noisy
Think about your priorities: quiet, convenience, or views.
3. Consider the Itinerary
Your route influences the value of a balcony.
Scenic cruises (Alaska, Norwegian Fjords, Mediterranean) → balcony highly recommended
Port‑intensive cruises → interior or oceanview may be perfectly fine
4. Check the Deck Plans
Before booking, look at what’s above, below, and around your cabin.
Avoid cabins under:
the pool deck
the theatre
nightclubs
buffet areas
These can be noisy late into the evening or early in the morning.
Choose the Cabin That Fits Your Style
There’s no single “best” cabin, only the one that suits how you like to travel. With a little thought, you can find a space that feels just right for your voyage.
